Climb for Cancer began in 2017 when I, Allison Wusaty, decided to climb the highest peak in Europe, Mount Elbrus. My family and I are passionate about this because cancer has impacted all of us. In less than a year we fundraised over $35 000 and on September 4, 2017, I reached the summit of Mount Elbrus, 5642m.

My brother, Andrew, has glioblastomas, a form of brain cancer. Andrew, 40, was diagnosed in 2008 and has since had four surgeries, underwent chemotherapy and radiation. With the incredible support support of his wife, Deserae and their three year old son, Pryce, Andrew continues to lead a healthy and happy lifestyle.

In 2018 we want to continue this same incredible spirit to help more Albertans facing cancer.

Thank you for supporting my efforts helping the Alberta Cancer Foundation bring the latest discoveries, delivering faster results to Alberta’s cancer patients. Every dollar raised directly supports Albertans facing cancer.

On behalf of the 43 Albertans who hear the words “you have cancer” everyday, thank you helping me accelerate change and for honouring Alberta’s cancer patients with your generous gift.
