Welcome to Win4Skin 2019!
Since 2010 Win4Skin has raised funds, through the Alberta Cancer Foundation, to help those facing skin cancer. Win4Skin was founded following the passing of Owen Schlosser, at age 21, to skin cancer. Over the years, members of the Schlosser and Johnston families, friends and the amazing Win4Skin community have made donations to improve the lives of those impacted by skin cancer – we are working to drive forward skin cancer research conducted through the Mary Johnston Chair in Melanoma Research.
Together, with your incredible participation and support, we’ve raised more than $370,000 over the past nine years in support of research and cancer patients across the province. We've played hockey and golf, bid on auction items, celebrated at our annual banquet, and this year we can't wait to do it all again. This years events include:
Win4Skin Bowling Night
Date: May 4
Location: Plaza Bowling
Win4Skin 5KM Walk/Run
Date: June 2
Location: Alfred Savage Centre
Win4Skin Banquet
Date: June 7
Location: Blatchford Field Air Hangar at Fort Edmonton Park
Mary Johnston championed skin cancer prevention and research for many years before losing her spirited battle to cancer in 2004. Mary lived with melanoma for 22 years, and during that time she served a 6-year term as the President of the Alberta Society of Melanoma. Mary was a shining example of strength and perseverance, and her dedication to melanoma research will live on through the important work made possible by generous gifts to her fund.
It is because of people like you that the Cross Cancer Institute is at the forefront of cancer research, treatment, and care. Without your support, the projects and pieces of equipment that make our province a world leader in cancer care simply would not have become a reality.
Thanks for being a participant in Win4Skin - for your generous support and donations.
